About

I completed my undergraduate studies at University of Cincinnati's college of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning and received my Bachelor's of Science in Architecture in 2015. I am currently pursuing a Master's of Architecture at DAAP as well. I have worked in Cincinnati, Philadelphia, and Seattle on schools, institutions, and residences. My interests lie in materiality, making, representation, translations, pattern, texture, and process.

I am currently conducting research and work on my graduate level thesis at University of Cincinnati. The work is heavily influenced by materiality, representation, and process. The idea starts with questioning the conventional role of the architect and its relationship to the actualization of architecture. It investigates the ties between representation and actualization and is approaching the question of the border between the United States and Mexico as an exercise in defining an alternative way of working.

A couple things I am working on this semester beyond my thesis include teaching a first year skills course, research into the potential for affect in banal materials, gaining skills in filming and videography in architecture, co-presidenting the School of Architecture and Interior Design Graduate Student Assembly, editing and curating content for re-said.co, and assisting with the Business Casual Lecture Series at SAID.

Awards

Triple Bridge Waterfront International Architecture Competition, Honorable Mention

The submission for the Triple Bridge Waterfront competition hosted by HMMD Competitions earned first Honourable Mention. All work done for this competition was co-authored and designed by myself and my colleague Connor Brindza. It was an international competition with a wide variety of entries from students, professionals, and architects alike from all over the world.

The project was a riverfront development located in Liepaja, Latvia that included a program of a restaurant, gallery, nightclub, and a fourth programmatic element of our choosing. Liepaja has a rich cultural history and heritage and has always been an important port located in the Baltic Sea.

The submission was a three-month-long exploration of different forms of representation and design through making. The project was done in phases of context research, form-making, design through collage, and production.

Dear Architecture, Other

A notable submission to the Blank Space Project's 'Dear Architecture 2015' Competition. It addresses architecture in the form of a stream of conscious profession of love, hate, desire, and confusion.
