Ar. Sayed Ahmed is a Bangladeshi practicing architect and academician. He studied architecture from the first science and technology university of that country, SUST; Sylhet. He is now a lecturer in the department of architecture, Bangladesh University, Dhaka; where he conducts art appreciation courses, design classes and seminars and also researches as a free scholar. He successfully got his master’s degree at Monumental heritage from Anhalt university of Applied Sciences, Bauhuas of Dessau, Germany. He specializes cultural studies, philosophy of art and architectural history, urban collective memory, material and climatic issues regarding vernacular architecture and so on. He has already published articles on architecture and art from several journals around the globe which includes countries like UK, USA, Australia, Nigeria, India, China and Indonesia. He is also in editorial board of ATINAR journal from Greece and CHITROLEKHA journal from India. His recent study published from ARCASIA journal of 19th forum, the largest platform of Asian architects. The title of the paper was, ‘Vernacularism in the vibrant courtyard space of Bangladesh: the architectural art of happiness.’

Around the world only 8 student projects were selected to present at WORLD ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL, BERLIN 2016; and jurors like Willy Alsop appreciated our work on urban context which relates water with an industrial monument. I took the lead to for my group consisting of students from China and Indonesia; and our teachers were from Iran.
