Eugenie Provost is a recent Graduate of the Masters of Architecture Program at the University of Louisiana – Lafayette School of Architecture and Design. As a result of her dedication to her studies, Eugenie was honored as a nominee for the University’s Fall 2017 Outstanding Master’s Graduate Award. During her Graduate Studies, Eugenie has worked on several service projects and supported faculty grant research, such as the Context Sensitive Solution contributions to the I-49 Connector Project, the community component of The Hattiesburg Art’s Center Project, and recently completed her investigation of early education and elderly care in her Master’s Project as it relates to our current digital culture. Her professional experience includes over five years of residential design work as well as architectural summer internships in both Lafayette, Louisiana and Houston, Texas, ranging from mixed-use developments to healthcare architecture projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Science with a Concentration of Architectural Technology and Design from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. During her senior year at Appalachian state University, she participated in an innovative design driven curriculum within a multidisciplinary environment of faculty and students known as IDEXlab, (Integrated Design Experience Laboratory). During this time, she and her team designed and built a new Welcome Center for the non-profit, Valle Crucis Community Park in Valle Crucis, North Carolina. Eugenie has been awarded several design awards throughout her undergraduate and graduate education and intends on becoming a licensed architect upon completion of her architectural experience program.

The project is in partnership with the Hattiesburg Art’s Council and is an adaptive reuse redevelopment of the Old Hattiesburg America Newspaper building into the Hattiesburg Community Arts Center that will house many different programs such as an after school program for children 6-13 as well as place for a gallery, a theater, and working space or local artists of many different disciplines.
