About

Interior designers create environments that affect and alter the way people live their lives.  Since graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Interior Architecture, I have been working for Jodi Macklin Interior Design (JMID).  I’ve learned how to create functional, beautiful spaces specific to one’s lifestyle and I get the utmost joy from clients’ comfort and happiness in their homes.  These skills come from my time at JMID as well as my internships at Marika Meyer Interiors.  Additionally, I’ve gotten exposure to the back end of the business through my experiences at Holly Hunt and Cowtan & Tout at the DC Design Center.

Design concepts are important in creating spaces with function and aesthetics, but the most important aspect of the design process is finding a way to relate, connect, and understand the client and their needs.  The key is knowing how to “WOW” clients both in terms of customer service, design sense, and communication skills.  Getting on a personal level and earning their trust is the most valuable skill in this industry.  An eye for design can be taught, but the client service management is what separates the good from the great.

I would be happy to send along testimonials, letters of reference, or better yet, I would love to meet you and introduce myself.
