I was born in the United States and was raised in Peru, and a recent graduate with a BFA in architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design. The involving of Art and Science is what defines Architecture. The Pursuit of Knowledge, Episteme, and the Design Process it what shapes an Architect. Since I was in a young age, I loved to build and create; now I still apply those actions through Architecture. I knew that was my passion since the beginning and it became my pursuit of happiness.
For me, Architecture helps people in a direct and indirect way, meaning that it provides shelter to people; gives something beautiful and elegant to look at; creates emotions; shapes our environment; and is my way to give back and contribute to the community. All of those characteristics are the main reason why I want to be an Architect; to contribute to the world in a sustainable way and to be involved with people in need.To design successfully, we should respect nature and the cultural aspects of the community. Not only we'll unite more as human beings, but we'll understand each other culturally and socially in a profound way.
SCAD has not only helped me become richer in mind, but also in soul. I’ve had the pleasure to be involved with professors that have enriched me as a person and also provided the opportunities of learning new kinds of ways to see Architecture.
