About 

XIAO Li, holds a Bachelor of Science in the Field of Urban Planning from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (2013) and a Master of Architecture Degree from Pratt Institute Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design, NY (2017).

Xiao’s study at Pratt includes architecture history and theory; multi-media representation; conceptual design practice and 3D modeling. He has worked as both architectural designer and urban designer at international architecture firms such as AECOM and Aedas in Beijing. His professional experience ranges from residential and commercial projects to international competition entries and urban design. He is an architectural Designer in Studio C Architects, working in collaboration with licensed architects in the development of design concepts, space planning, and project management for a range of commercial, institutional, and residential projects

Xiao Li is a LEED Accredited Professional and a Associate AIA.

With  a multicultural background, Xiao believes it is the role of a designer to harness the understanding of the cultural and contextual intricacies, and climate in the interpretation of space, form, and order into design. Architecture must speak to the belief, values, and traditions of the people who inhabit it and be an outward expression of internal feeling and need. He believes international and multicultural sense of globalism will give architects the strength to have multi-perspective views inspiring powerful design.

Studio C Architects, New York, Junior Architectural Designer

• Based on the aesthetic direction led by the Associate Principal, design pre-construction proposals and develop 3D renderings of design plans utilizing design software
• Produce rough and detailed sketches and drawings of various scales by hand, design development phases, and plan space layout, taking into consideration various architectural, engineering, structural, interior design, materials, and other related factors
• Communicate with clients to assess and determine their particular needs, functional or spatial requirements of new structures or renovations, time and budget considerations, stylistic requirements, and develop innovative and cost-effective architectural design strategies accordingly
• Research federal, state, and local laws, zoning regulations, and building codes to assess project plans are in compliance with such regulations, and prepare documents for the approval of governmental authorities having jurisdiction

• Render design ideas in the form of paste-ups, drawings and illustrations and determine estimates of material requirements and costs based on the finalized design, to be presented to licensed architects for review and clients for approval
