About

This past year I have spent countless hours working in UCLA’s cross-disciplinary post-professional design research facility known as the SUPRASTUDIO. Here, I have pursued my primary research goal regarding the implications of advanced computation in regards to cross-platform design. While I maintain expertise in computational design and modeling techniques, much of my research focused on how the emergence of ''experiential design' aids both the design and representation of that design.

To me, design can be enhanced through the utilization of an iterative relationship between tools such as VR and AR in an effort to gain a more contextual understanding of a design problem. This affinity is informed on the level of the designer as well as the user’s experience and feedback which can then be optimized through common computational methods and reinstantiated. As a result, the construction of a ‘digital experiential environment’ becomes the generator of design in regards to both the designer as well as the user.

It is this topic which has led me away from static architecture and towards a more generalized design methodology based on emerging technology; yet, rooted in human collaboration.
