About 

I am an adaptable and responsible Part 2 Architectural Assistant seeking a position that will utilise the organisation and communication skills developed through my involvement with the architecture school’s yearbook and student-run lecture society. Throughout my employment, I have shown a great deal of ambition to continued learning and time management. I have a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through to completion. I enjoy working on my own or as part of a team and have professional experience as a leader in managerial roles within the hospitality industry. I am reliable, hard-working and eager to learn and would like to join a practice that matches my ambition.

I have been working on a number of projects within the education, residential, retail and healthcare sectors. I am currently involved in several NHS Grampian term-contract minor projects working through RIBA Plan of Work (RIBA PoW) Stages 0-4. I have also been involved in some minor projects for Aberdeenshire schools in which I took the design to construction RIBA PoW Stage 5.

I have been working on a refurbishment of a Listed Building within the University of Aberdeen Campus, King’s College has been upgraded to allow collaborative learning and lecturing whilst allowing full access to Disabled users to the upper
lecture theatre, seminar rooms and offices. Recently I have been tasked with becoming the main point of contact for a new build care home whilst on-site allowing me to gain experience in running a project on-site.

Working on medium scale housing within the City of Inverness as well as expansion of existing distilleries as well as designing new build Distilleries throughout Scotland.

Collaborating on an invited competition based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The project comprises of situating an ambulance garage, offi ces and accommodation with the City archive which is to be occupied incrementally.

I was tasked to research courtyard housing and develop a typology for a rural Scottish environment, with the output consisting of technical drawings showing the clear and organised planning, as well as the overall material aesthetic.

I was involved in a government commission to design and facilitate a new underground train line through the centre of Göteborg in order to connect Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö in one continuous railway track that would reduce
travelling time by over an hour whilst also bringing new opportunities for public transport within the city itself. I was involved in visualising new terminals, as well as helping to create working models of stations and underground platforms.

During the final years of the course, I was a prominent member of the student body helping organise the final exhibition space for the master’s students. I received accolades in the form of featuring at the Big Crit and winning the Purchase Award. I have a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through to completion.
