About

I'm currently a 5th year undergraduate thesis student at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).  I'm an Architecture student in the B. Arch program, and had just received my B.F.A. after four yours of Architecture school.  RISD is an excellent place, however I am excited to move forward.  I am also a musician, and have started a small recording studio in Bushwick this past year.  I'm planning to move to New York in June 2017.

Hard Black Design, Providence, RI, US, Design and Fabrication Assistant

While working for H. B. Design this summer, I worked directly with Andrew Tower focused on drawing and modeling as part of the integrated design process, working within the studio and shop. In addition, I worked on site construction replacing floors, building walls, and casting concrete. The two main projects consisted of a completed PVD Donuts which included design, demolition, and reconstruction, as well as a spa and rehab center in Comerio Puerto Rico that is still in the process of construction.

Education

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Providence, RI, US, BArch, Architecture

RISD has a lot to offer in its diverse Architecture culture. The thesis year is organized in the same sense as the GSD program. The first semester is a seminar in which each student builds the frame work for their thesis, to be executed in the spring. The construction of words allows the student to refine their ideas to a point where the work is generative of the order of thought. Once the framework is established, probes are created to explore the thesis prior to the intense production that follows in the spring.
Personally I found that working directly with Carl Lostritto in Computational Drawing compelled me to continue to generate "active representations," to expand on our conventions within the architecture discipline. We initially began working with Python and rhino script to explore samples from other architecture. The idea of "architecture based on drawing buildings" would allow drawing to grow into a design that started from a small piece of DNA pulled from a sample of an existing building.

Dreyfoos School of the Arts, West Palm Beach, FL, US, High School, Visual Arts

I was a Visual Arts major at a top ten nationally ranked art school in South Florida. Dreyfoos School of the Arts allowed me to continue my interests in drawing which I studied at the Middle School of the Arts. Having advanced experience in drawing and Painting for over 10 years has provided me with a skill set that I can never take for granted. The education I received from Dreyfoos is still relevant today, even as a soon to be graduate from RISD. The topics were more advanced than most painting classes at top tier art colleges.
