MOHIT KAMBOJ - Chairman - KBJ Group (Real Estate)

The KBJ Group, a family-owned company built by three generations of the Kamboj family over a period of more than five decades, was founded in 1956 by the late B.L. Kamboj with business interests intrading of gold jewellery in the wholesale market under the banner of Banwarilal &Co. in Amritsar. He expanded his company witha branch office in Varanasi to develop a network in the wholesale market in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by 1965.

In 1978, Deepak Kamboj took over the mantle from his father and increased the company’s market share by establishing a wholesale network in West Bengal and Orissa. The Group is now headed by Mohit D.Kamboj – Deepak Kamboj’s son. He joined his father in 2001 and moved to Mumbai in order to expand the company’s profile. He started by working with a Mumbai-based jewellery manufacturing company to study the domestic and export market and analyse buyer trends. In 2005, he started a new company called KBJ Jewellery Pvt Ltd and increased the Group’s turnover manifold through sheer perseverance and ingenuity. In order to establish centralised management and better organizational outcomes, Mohit decided to take over Banwarilal & Co in 2007, thus expanding the business network pan-India to fulfil the vision of his grandfather.
