Following a Bachelors of Architecture in 2009 from Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic began my career as an Architect in L y M Heyaime & Asociados, a residential design and construction firm in Santo Domingo. After gaining a year and a half of work experience, in 2011, I moved to Australia to pursue a Masters of Architecture from the University of Melbourne. In 2014, I relocated to New York City to continue my professional career working towards becoming a New York State registered architect.
For the last two and a half years, I have worked for Gene Kaufman Architects and SLCE Architects, both design + construction firms focused on residential and hospitality buildings. As a junior architect, I have been involved in schematic design, design development and construction documentation of large-scale rental and high-end condo residential buildings as well as hotels. I have also been involved in preparing submission packages for the NY Department of Building, coordination with MEP engineers and other consultants and reviewing for building code, fire department and ADA compliance.
