NOTABLE  PROJECTS

  • Served as Project Manager for $11 million, 13,000 Sq. Ft. Descanso Beach Club Banquet/Conference/Dining Facility, the first new construction building in 60 years on Catalina. Led project execution for building that includes a 6,000 sq. ft. commercial kitchen, bakery, ice cream parlor, and banquet/conference space with full access to an oceanfront view.
  • Led $3 million, 49-unit family housing renovation project. Transformed 90-year buildings, updating utilities, kitchens, bathrooms, and interiors/exteriors. Used modern energy efficient materials and appliances and raised the standard of living for residents.
  • Led redesign and renovation of the $500K Mini Golf Gardens, turning around business operations and doubling profits. Collaborated with a Landscape Architect to redesign the soft and hardscaping. Selected energy efficient lighting and renovated the check-in building.
  • Managed $2 million Catalina Island Casino Renovation project executed to save the historic building from further decay. Led team charged with repairing the building’s 80-year old exterior and preserve the Art Deco design. Received the L.A. Conservancy 2012 Preservation Award.

For my involvement and coordination in making a project that involved the 1st Platoon, C Company, 84th Engineer Battalion, from Ft. Richardson, Alaska, local general contractors and some native civilians construct the expansion to the Roi-Namur marina facility and checkpoint office and a new shower/restroom facility for the Marshallese.

This award was given out every quarter during the year for yard improvements made by the tenants. Each yard was judged by a committee of 5 residence to determine who had the best looking yard that quarter.
