MMS Consultants, Iowa City, IA, US, Landscape Architect
Responsibilities
As a landscape architect at MMS Consultants, I am responsible for all the planting plans of commercial and industrial projects that we design. I work very closely with the Iowa City Community School District to design new sports fields, plazas and playgrounds for a majority of the schools in the area. As a result, I have designed the layout of the most recent elementary school in the area. Other responsibilities include drafting cost estimates, specifications, construction documents, preparing pre bid meetings, bid opening meetings, pre construction meetings and being available for contractors daily. On a daily basis I work with architects, engineers, other landscape architects, construction managers, and clients.

White working at MMS I have had 4 projects gone out to bid for construction including a $15 million dollar school that I designed.

Leedscape Planning and Design, Beijing, China, Landscape Architect
Responsibilities
As a landscape architect at Leedscape, I mainly designed resorts in Southern China. We had a few plaza design projects in the Beijing area. I helped develop projects from the initial concept through to complete design while providing the graphics and models for each step. As a requirement for most Chinese projects, I prepared future development and maintenance plans for several of the projects we designed. As the team leader for a few of the projects, it was my responsibility to have a completion schedule and make sure that everyone on the team is fulfilling their duties. I was also the representation for my company at many meetings and design openings. I had a big role in a development opening where I spoke to a crowd of fifteen hundred people explaining the design concept behind out newest development. Since I was the only American, and fluent English speaker in the company, I assisted in the outreach program for other countries and potential hires while helping managing the website.

Responsibilities
Conduct a site visit of property and then create an AutoCad based plan of the existing conditions. After discussing design options and intent with the client and owner of the company I will design several planting plans that the client can then choose from. After the client makes a design decision I will go back and pick out plants, and hand render then final plan.
Accomplishments
Before I started working for BP Landscaping, their current designer would take over 2 months to design a plan for one customer. I can complete a site survey, talk to the client, makes appropriate changes and have a hand rendered finished product in 2 days. Since I've been working at BP Landscaping I have increased the number of clients that the company has every year based on how quickly and efficiently I work.
Skills Used
I have excellent skills on the computer. I work mainly in AutoCad to produce the drawings. Do some rendering in Photoshop and then hand render all the finished products. I am proficient in many other software applications. I have exceptional communication skills with clients and the owner. My biggest skill is that I can work quickly and still produce quality drawings.

Responsibilities
I work directly for the CEO of the company. I manage all his paperwork, schedule, work directly with clients, write up contracts, make phone calls for clients directly related to their endorsement deals, manage business accounts, and go on trips. I assist the CEO in whatever he needs done and I do work directly for the clients to make sure their endorsement deals are being handled appropriately.
Accomplishments
I have managed to digitalize and organize files into the computer for easier access to information, easier distribution through email and organize important information for each individual client. I work quickly and efficiently to get the job done in a timely manor. I am very personable so working and speaking to clients is always a pleasant experience.

My organizational skills and proficiency with computer program skills is what turned this company around. My communicational skills has helped me advance to working more based on the fact that I can easily talk to, direct, explain, and manage; over the phone, clients endorsement deals.
