Shilpa Sushil is a Los Angeles based architect with experience working in India and USA. During her time in India, she worked as a Project Architect with Gurjit Singh Matharoo who’s firm is listed as one of the top 50 architect’s offices in the world (A+U). Mr.Matharoo is also a winner of Chicago Athenaeum International Architectural Award and an International Fellow of RIBA. She carries with her a wide range of experience on a variety of building scales and typologies including residential, healthcare, institutional and hospitality.  She has also achieved credits for her significant contribution to these projects with the firm, on architecture’s topmost publications like Global Architecture, Architectural Digest, Domus, Archdaily and DeZeen.

After having worked with the internationally acclaimed practice, she further enhanced her expertise in the field with her Masters in Design Research degree from SCI-Arc. With her immensely rich architectural background, she brings with her a unique balance of innovative thinking rationalized with practical knowledge. Often called the Mecca of modern architecture, Ahmedabad where she lived for years, with some of its avant-garde buildings by pioneers of the time - Corbusier, Louis Kahn, Doshi and Correa had a strong influence in shaping her design thinking. She believes there is design in everything that you see and has explored other disciplines including furniture design, automobile design and digital design.

She is a licensed architect in India and an International Associate of AIA. With her current position as a Project Manager at Connect Homes, a growing modern prefab design-build firm, she plays a key role in managing several projects spread all over California. With the firm, she works on affordable, next generation housing solutions for those looking for great design and a better building experience.
