Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture Student Competition, Honorable Mention
The competiton called for a school that integrates neuroscience into the design. The site is located in Yantalo, a mountaineous village in Peru. The classroom spaces are planned to be built in phases for three group of students; K-3, 4-6, and 7-12. Our design intention is to create an appropriate learnng environment enriched by architecture, where learning occurred through engagement with the world. The design for each type of classroom is based on a similar module to serve as an anchor to create familiarity while subtle differentiation will enrich each stage and its corresponding spaces.
