My name is Kaining Li, and I am from China. I am an international architecture graduate student who is currently studying at USC and graduating in May, 2016. I got my bachelor degree back in Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
I am currently working as an intern for Von Oeyen Architects in Los Angeles and seeking a full time position in a company or a studio which is focus on architecture design. Before going back to China or getting a visa to work in US, I'd like to try different scales of firms to learn more so that I can be more competitive.
Geoffrey von Oeyen Design, Los Angeles, Intern
I am working for Von Oeyen Architects as in intern since February 2016. The projects I follow are two small houses which locate in Santa Barbara, California, USA. I worked from the very beginning of these projects so I did a little bit the design stuff with Geoffrey von Oeyen. Most of the time I model in Rhino and draw plans from the schematic design phase for the design.

University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA, US, MArch, Master of Advanced Architecture Studies
I had had 3 studio until now.
For the first semester I was in Jose Sanchez studio, and what we did was creating a parametric pavilion with only one simple small object but different kinds of combination. The program we used is called Unity which is mostly used as game engine.
For the second semester I was in Larrt Scarpa studio. We 10 students worked as a group to analyse the current situation of USC, and redesigned it to make USC a better place as a learning space.
The last semester I did my architecture theory with Wes Jones. My thesis is thinking architecture as a passive container and I designed a museum located in my hometown, Shenzhen, to support my thesis.
