About

I hold a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the University of Virginia. I keep shaping myself into a great designer as well as a great researcher in urban context. I took courses such as urban design studio, community design studio, transportation and land use, environmental planning, architecture research seminar and advanced GIS. I am now an urban designer at VMDO Architects, working on Liberty University Master Plan project. I also completed an internship in D.C. and an externship in San Francisco to gain hands-on experience in this field. I possess strong research and visual theoretical skills with the ability to visualize the end result.

I have the ability to conduct studies and assessments to use in the writing and development of urban design project. I am good at master planning, especially in campus planning and transportation planning. From initial design sketch to computer illustration, I consider every aspect of the project includes geography, size and the purpose it will serve. I also have the ability to monitor and track design projects in all phases, also to respond quickly when problems arise by making the necessary changes to get things back to track.

I believe that a great personality is more important than make a beautiful drawing. Urban planning and design study shape me into a good talker and coordinator, I am interested in how to bring public participation into design process, for I believe all the best ideas are from the people living in the built environment. During design practice, I can work seamlessly with other professionals in the field such as developers and public officials. I can offer expert advice on urban design solution and help mentor peers and community members.
