About

I am a maker. It is in the minutia of strategies of assemblage where I find my interests gravitating. I find my creativity soars when methods of material tectonics play the most important role in the way a project is expressed. I find myself an information sponge. I want to learn as much as I can about as many subjects as I can-and then synthesize this information into ways of thinking, making, and doing.

Education

Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Los Angeles, CA, US, MArch, Master of Architecture I

SCI-Arc is and always has been interested in an architectural education that exceeds standard programs. With a heavy emphasis on digital tools, SCI-Arc Graduates are trained as virtuoso form-makers. Computer program fluency includes: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Etc.), Autodesk Suite (AutoCAD, 3DS, Maya, etc.), Rhino, Grasshopper, Vray, Maxwell, ZBrush to name a few. These Digital skills enable graduates to engage in industry-leading digital fabrication techniques such as laser-cutting, 3D printing, and CNC milling. Even with such an emphasis on the digital, graduates are still expected to be well-versed in analogue form-making such as woodworking, metal working, machining, welding, physical model-making and technical drawing.

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Pomona, CA, US, Bachelors, Landscape Architecture

While experiencing several pedagogical shifts in the department of Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly, I found myself pushing the boundaries of what is considered traditional Landscape Architecture. Studies began with extensive history, plant identification, horticulture, soil science, construction, and conceptual design. Upper division quickly accelerated my interest in the field and allowed me to explore processes of making.
