Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Hanh Nguyen. I recently graduate with a bachelor of architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I am looking for a Junior designer position.

To me, working in international and regional projects will help me gain valuable global experiences. Moreover, travel provides chances for the architects to learn different cultural, climate and local materials. During five years studying in the United States, I have designed many projects in different regions in the nation and out States. My 5th year thesis project was a children’s museum in Saigon, Vietnam, which carried the problem of how to export Western design culture to fit Asia’s need. A problem you may have encountered while working in South East Asia.

As for my work experience, I have been lucky enough to intern at Gensler and Levy Design Partners in San Francisco. I have also worked for my father’s construction company Hiep Hoa in Vietnam every summer. The latest project I was involved in was the Kaya Hotel, a 16 story luxury hotel which we owned and built. I also have had the opportunity to work closely in a multi-disciplinary team, which included city regional planning, landscape architecture colleagues and business administration graduates during the two-week Urban Land Institute Student Urban Design Competition.

I pride myself on an ability to work adeptly with digital tools, including Auto Cad, Revit, Sketchup Rhino and Adobe CS5. I believe that the combination of my design skills, ability to work well in a team and my punctuality/time management is well-suited to the career opportunity with your company.
