Jenda Michl

Jenda Michl

Los Angeles, CA, US

As a project captain at AB Design Studio, I enjoy my opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects.  In just my first 6 months, I had significant involvement with large multi unit housing, shipping container modifications, commercial development, private homes, government projects, and feasibility studies, among others.

I continue to enjoy opportunities to serve as a juror at arch schools, most recently at Sci-Arc to conclude their fall '16 semester.  I am always open to opportunities to further develop my research interests (how environmental factors and scripting can determine form), forge stronger connections between architecture and the public, and to generally involve myself in acadamia.

A few highlights from my CV:

  • Variety of celebrated built projects
  • Speak at conferences on the topic of evolutionary solvers and the designs they will enable in the near future.
  • Created a 6 week art show in the summer of '15 at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, celebrating the architectural design process through architectural models.
  • Believe that architects need new ways to dialogue and relate with the general public, and have a well developed concept for an architecture centered co-working space that would include a research and skill incubator.  In addition, it would provide new free services and knowledge for the public, creating greater awareness and understanding of the profession.
  • Have designed and fabricated furniture which was exhibited at the A+D Museum among other places.
  • Worked for several years as the LEED AP and a project engineer for a GC specializing in public projects.
