Shijie Zhang graduated from School of Architecture, Chang'an University in the ancient city of Xi'an, China. During undergraduate, he has interned at several firms and design institutes including the Architecture Design and Research Institute of Henan Province Co., Ltd in Zhengzhou, China and E-Town Design Institute in Beijing. While at school he expressed his strength towards multidisciplinary areas by being awarded in architectural design competitions as well as synthetic academic events such as Freescale Smart Car Race, Annual Structrual Mechanics Competition and "Challenge Cup" College Business Plan Competition.
Following graduation in 2014, out of his strong interest in specific architecture design in terms of transporation and dynamics, Shijie continued to seek academic experience in the cross-disciplinary platform known as Suprastudios in UCLA. During this 1-year master degree program conducted by L.A based architect Craig Hodgetts, he along with 24 students from across the globe have made creative achievements while trying to realize Elon Musk's futuristic vision of Hyperloop from the perspective of architects using multiple productive tools including projectors and robots in the past year.
Shijie's enthusiasm in design and creativity also lies in 3D-printing, game design and LEGO modeling.
