About

Owner of a design-oriented studio specializing in new construction, renovations & additions for projects within historic districts and urban contexts.  Responsible for concept design, construction documents, code research, permit processing, review board presenting, as well as marketing, client, office & project management.  Residential projects include: multi-unit lofts and apartments, lodging houses and private residences.  Commercial projects include: restaurants and bars; retail shops and galleries; professional and medical offices; churches and non-profits.  As the developer and construction manager of several residential rehabs, I’ve strengthened our city’s urban fabric by renovating & remodeling its most blighted, structurally challenged, yet significant buildings.  Facades respect the historic character while interiors integrate restored features with new modern amenities.

I have extensive knowledge of working within Historic Guidelines, have presented my projects numerous occasions before the Historic Review Board, and have met or spoken with Historic Conservators weekly.  I’ve completed Historic Tax Credit forms and have been the developer of Historic properties.  I’ve saved several condemned buildings thru major structural augmentation & am an expert on working with dilapidated buildings.  I’ve recorded at least 100 structures and worked as the architect in their renovations.  I’ve worked diligently in all efforts to preserve the Over the Rhine neighborhood.  Viewing my website will provide you a great insight into my work experience.  www.muarchitect.com
