About 

I am looking for employment (be it full-time, part-time, or contract) as an entry-level landscape architect.  In May 2011, I graduated with my MLA from UC Denver.  In addition, I have an undergraduate degree in journalism, and am currently the editor-in-chief of ROOT journal (a landscape architecture publication).  I am also employed by the National Park Service, where I work part-time as an assistant landscape architect for Rocky Mountain National Park.

Volunteer position responsible for oversight of entire annual landscape architecture publication, from article acceptance to editing and graphic design and layout to distribution and marketing. This is the University of Colorado Denver master of landscape architecture publication.
Key accomplishments include:
• 2011 recipient of Douglas Haskell Award for Student Journals - Honorable Mention.
• Successful expansion from local to national publication.
• Successfully increased visibility and submittal rates (from 11 in 2010 to 22 in 2011)

National Park Service, Assistant Landscape Architect

This position focuses on park-wide structural assessments for ADA accessibility and designs predicated on those findings. In addition, 40 percent of time is spent preparing construction documents and details in conjunction with the park’s landscape architect and engineering department.
Key accomplishments include:
• Standardizing protocols and approaches for dealing with accessible structures.
• Assisting with design of the new information desk within the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center (a
national historic landmark).
• Authoring the 300+ page accessibility report.

Key accomplishments include:
• Continual contract renewal over 8 months (original contract was for 6 weeks).
• Promotion to primary paralegal role while maintaining full-time graduate school credit load.

Responsible for trial and case management on every litigation matter within the Patent group. Consulted across offices to streamline paralegal workforce and establish group-wide best practices. Instituted electronic case management practices throughout patent litigation department as well as San Francisco’s General Litigation group.
Key accomplishments include:
• Performed as paralegal lead at ITC trial with multiple plaintiffs across multiple firms.
• Prepared client pitch Powerpoint presentation for the Board of Directors at Yahoo as well as presentations for the legal departments at Intel, Oracle, Cisco, Broadcom and many other technology companies.
• Responsible for establishing electronic case management protocols and procedures that remain in place today.
• Trained and mentored all Patent Litigation paralegals, regardless of experience or office location.

Case manager and lead paralegal on as many as 6 concurrent patent litigation cases. Responsible for document maintenance, trial and hearing assistance, as well as in-court Powerpoint presentation creation.

• Co-authored firm-wide IP Litigation paralegal training manual.
• Trained all incoming Silicon Valley patent litigation paralegals.
• Consulted with New York, Houston, and Washington D.C. offices on best practices with regard to electronic case file management.

I received my MLA with studies ranging from the technical to the artistic. Technical education components includes: plant knowledge and performance, grading and drainage, AutoCad drafting and detailing, and project specification writing through construction. Artistic education components include: hand drawing, digital rendering, and 3D graphics programs.
