California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Pomona, CA, US, BArch, Architecture
Cal State Fullerton, Fullerton, CA, US, Art
I studied at CSUF for three years, completing my General Education classes and majoring in Art. Although collectively my GE classes provided me with a breadth of knowledge in many different areas, I took a lot of geography classes to fulfill my GEs. I grew interested in site and context and how the way people live and the way they view the world is influenced by the context in which they exist. The art classes I took allowed me to be creative and learn design skills. After taking a 3D design class, I grew interested in architecture and design principles. I took numerous sculpture classes, which allowed me to create projects with an architectural emphasis. Many of my projects fuse the concepts I learned in my geography classes with the design principles I learned in my art classes. Because architecture became my focus, I decided to apply to Cal Poly Pomona's Architecture Program. I was accepted, so after 3 years at Cal State Fullerton, I will begin a new journey at Cal Poly Pomona.
