Paula Triviño grew up in Miami, Florida.
After receiving her diploma from New World School of the Arts in 2012, she received a Full-Scholarship Award to attend The School of Visual Arts Interior Design Program, Bachelors of Fine Arts. By having an inviting yet professional personality, she has been able to become one of SVA’s representators,
senator and studio assistant for the Interior Design Department. She is a passionate, committed, enthusiastic student eager to learn. Her skills range from having strong design, graphic, communication and well organization skills to proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Software, architectural programs, model making and building furniture prototypes. She is also bi-lingual knowing both English and Spanish fluently. Currently, she is attending Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo: The Oslo National Academy of the Arts as a Student Exchange Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design for the Spring 2015 Semester. She is not only a visual artist but a designer who is in a constant study of using architecture and materials to interact and evoke emotion within users.

The Student Exchange program in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design is a six-month integrated study that emphasizes artistic and design approach of rooms and objects that satisfy practical and emotional needs of people in different situations and environments. Students develop insight into the subject of an analytical and intuitive way through both practical and theoretical work.
Also, the student develops aesthetic and technical knowledge as well as design expertise and critical reflection in the practical management of complex projects.
The emphasis is on creative processes that promote testing and experimentation in work from idea to results. The individual student's academic motivation, commitment, curiosity and perseverance are important in the study. It is assumed an active learning in design professional development which combines practice and theory.

SVAID, the BFA Interior Design Department at School of Visual Arts, prepares students to create environments for living, working and playing. Taught by award-winning interior designers, architects and artists, students learn to combine their personal creativity with time-tested principles of design and the latest technologies, products and materials.
Students present projects that one is likely to encounter in a diverse design practice, including those for special populations. Students employ a variety of drawing techniques to represent their ideas and designs, including hand sketches, hand-drafted plans, AutoCAD and other computer programs. Building codes, universal and sustainable design are also incorporated into class projects.

The program of Visual Arts at the New World School of the Arts is designed to provide students with opportunities to master a wide variety of approaches to personal expression through the use of two and three dimensional media.
Individual growth and development are pursued through the study of drawing, design, painting, photography, computer graphics, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed-media techniques. Additionally, the study of art appreciation and art history provide an understanding of the contributions of the artist to the development of world culture and the role of the professional artist in contemporary life.
Art students are required to maintain a sketchbook throughout their high school studies for review and evaluation. The program is augmented by visiting artists who offer alternative aesthetic viewpoints and particular skills training above and beyond that offered by our regular instructors, all of whom are exhibiting artists.

School of Visual Arts four year Presidential award covers half tuition for incoming freshman students who demonstrate creative achievements.
Scholarship is only given to first-time freshman and transfer applicants seeking admission to a full-time undergraduate program with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The School of Visual Art's scholarship decisions are based on a review of applicants’ portfolios and academic records.
