Resiliency design and management of flood retrofit projects in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens with combined budgets in excess of $53 million; including Richard Meier’s Westbeth Center for the Arts approved Certificate of Appropriateness from Landmarks Preservation Commission and Manhattan Community Board 2; DOB approved and construction kicked-off. Short-listed for Brooklyn Navy Yard master planning and resiliency projects. Secured contract amendments for projects exceeding seven multiples of the original fee. Currently, the Brooklyn office Architectural Experience Program liaison providing intern mentor-ship.

Directly assisted principle in the operation of design/build on multiple Class-A commercial office, retail, and restaurant tenant improvement projects from 1k-85k square feet with $5k-$1.3 million budgets within fifteen buildings on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. City council approved presentation of 3rd floor addition preserving mountain views for Microsoft/Bing. Fire restoration of historic structure for The Oak; a James Beard semi-finalist restaurant.

Net-Zero Single-Family Residence, Boulder, CO, US, Designer of Record

Net-Zero, passive solar design, 4,948 sqft, $1.3 million dollar budget that started as a solar access study on a sloping lot, to being awarded the project as an undergraduate student and then submission of permit set to the City of Boulder; construction completed before graduation with a structural engineer stamp and design/build contractor.

Structural Insulated Panel construction, solar tower with operable windows using heat stacking effect, dual sided fireplace between Living Room and Dining Room, roof deck with spiral stair access, heat pumps and Geo-thermal wells, solar tracking PV array, electric car receptacles; net-zero achieved, sold for $2.6 million.

Architectural assemblage through complexity studies with digital tools for a revolution in design, construction, and the fabrication of form. Parametricism and the exploration of digital form finding was a large part of my education at Pratt, but the gambit of various modeling from computational to combinatorial, from kinematic animation to particle systems animation based on simple line drawings.

Awards 

Berkeley Prize - Semi Finalist, Honorable Mention

International essay competition about designing a competition to fit a specific social need. Two years after Hurricane Katrina, I volunteered for a landscape architecture studio in New Orleans. The park I was assigned was inundated twice, first by Katrina, and secondly by 450 FEMA trailers currently occupying the site. My competition was to design better storm relief shelter.
