Net-Zero, passive solar design, 4,948 sqft, $1.3 million dollar budget that started as a solar access study on a sloping lot, to being awarded the project as an undergraduate student and then submission of permit set to the City of Boulder; construction completed before graduation with a structural engineer stamp and design/build contractor.
Structural Insulated Panel construction, solar tower with operable windows using heat stacking effect, dual sided fireplace between Living Room and Dining Room, roof deck with spiral stair access, heat pumps and Geo-thermal wells, solar tracking PV array, electric car receptacles; net-zero achieved, sold for $2.6 million.

International essay competition about designing a competition to fit a specific social need. Two years after Hurricane Katrina, I volunteered for a landscape architecture studio in New Orleans. The park I was assigned was inundated twice, first by Katrina, and secondly by 450 FEMA trailers currently occupying the site. My competition was to design better storm relief shelter.
