Foundation Design Laboratory : Helping students gain focus on basic elements of design, addressed visually and conceptually. Introducing studies in two and three dimensions, using various materials and tools. Helping them understand the process of design through experiment. Encouraging aesthetic judgment and means of self-evaluation.
Textile Spaces Class : A seminar and mini studio, focused on intense exploration and discovery through fabrication. Familiarizing students with the use of shops through fabrication incorporating wood, metal and textiles. Helping assemble student projects for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas as well as organizing installment of student projects for an exhibition at the Center for the Performing Arts in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Building Materials Class : This class taught about the attributes of materials with which buildings are built such as masonry, reinforced concrete, steel, stone, timber, glass and insulation; Field trips to working sites of each material were assigned to fully engage the materials. Learned leadership and responsibility.
