About

I am an ambitious architectural designer working and living in New York City. Over the past three years, I have taken part in a variety of project types, which have both expanded my technical knowledge in construction and helped me evolve artistically.

Whether in New York or Pennsylvania, working for smaller architecture firms like The Fractal Group and Mula Architects has given me a diverse, in depth experience in architectural practice. This included drafting from schematic design to construction documents, 3D modeling and rendering for presentation documents, client and rep meetings, field surveys and construction observation, and material research with non-standard construction. Prior to Mula, an urban design position in one of the bigger development firms in Oslo, Norway, allowed me to think critically about architecture in a broader, urban sense. My professional experience has opened my eyes to the realities of the working world, forcing me to balance design with budget issues and clients’ wishes. I have supplemented the constraints of my professional work with participation in architecture competitions on my down time.

After five years and ten completed architecture studio courses, my education has tested and proven my determination, ability and passion for design. The program was focused heavily on the artistic aspect of architecture, and therefore has nurtured creativity while molding a sustainable way of thinking through many enticing projects. Most notably among these were my thesis project in which I explored ways of developing the old shipyard halls of the Gdansk Shipyard in Poland and a studio abroad in Rome where I worked in a group with Italian students from RomaTre University and Canadian students from Waterloo University. Each gave me a unique cultural perspective on group and individual work.

I am a hard working individual and am always looking to better myself and my design work. I bring a diverse cultural and professional perspective to the table as well as a sense of humor and a willingness to go the extra mile to finish what needs to get done. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhinocerous3D, AutoCad, Google Sketchup and Revit are among the programs I have experience in, although I enjoy sketching and physical model making as well. I am also multilingual speaking Norwegian and Polish fluently.
