About

Being in such a diverse and multi-faceted profession such as Architecture, I often find myself deciphering what exactly intrigues me most in practice.  There are three areas in today's Architecture that I find to be the most pertinent in progressing the profession:

•Strong emphasis on design and ingenuity; break all of the rules
•Research and analysis as a method of supporting tangible designs
•Interdisciplinary approach to solving issues of any scale

Upholding each of these as personal standards, I am slowly seeking my own unique ways of impacting the field and its products.  I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to do 'when I grow up'.

Vincent's Professional Blog on Archinect:

Architect of the Young : A Professional Narrative

As architecture continues to lose members, it's ever-important to empower and give voices to those young designers in the field. This blog does exactly just that, seeking a powerful young voice among those with many more years in the profession.

IBACOS, Inc., Pittsburgh, PA, US, Associate, Product Design + Research

While working in the midst of several different disciplines ranging from architecture to industrial design, I have been exposed to many different aspects of construction and manufacturing. This position challenged me to think of design considerations in mass production buildings as opportunities to create an architectural product that may only be a component but increases all aspects of durability. In this way, the architecture becomes more a product, infused with industrial design and increased manufacturability these solutions are not only about creating a higher quantity of something but also making it in a way that quality is increased proportionately.

My responsibilities included:
•Complex and detailed 3D-modeling of construction details.
•In-depth analysis and creation of new construction details with careful consideration of fabrication and aesthetics in the final product.
•Research-intensive design iterations with heavy influence from building science principles.
