I'm a recent graduate of Pennsylvania State University where I completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree. From my studies over the last five years, and my studies abroad, I've learned that architecture has the potential to improve quality of life by acting as a social catalyst through physical and visual means. I am passionate about community and client based projects that act at a scale of greater influence.
My senior thesis was a vessel of exploration for these interests. Based in North Charleston, South Carolina, the project focused on how architecture could combat food desert conditions and address socioeconomic divides both physically and intellectually. Consequently, I am drawn to sustainable architecture and to design that is integrated with the environment.
I enjoy all aspects of a project, from materiality to spatial relationships, and I love diving in to the historical, social, environmental and political context that inevitably influence design. New technology is allowing for bolder and more innovative design and I'm very excited to be entering the workforce in this age of rapid change.
Last year I spent a semester abroad in Rome, and traveled all over central and western Europe with a backpack and a sketchbook. I had the time of my life, and I learned more that I ever thought possible. Back here on the east coast I have been injecting those experiences into my design approach as much as possible.
