About

I source my inspiration from abstractions of the natural form, both in animal and environment alike. Direct representations of these stimuli can result in tacky underdeveloped concepts. Yet through practiced artistic expression, and an intuitive sensitivity for ethical responsibilities, a beautifully minimal and successfully moralistic product can be achieved.

I am very active and enjoy daily yoga, cycling, or running. I also adore playing piano and experimenting with art projects through a wide range of mediums: stenciling/spray painting, photoshop collaging, or contour ink sketches are my most common. I have been vegan for almost three years, and savor the joy of cooking as well.

Employment

Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects, Chicago, IL, US, Intern Architect

I was fortunate enough to time my arrival to this office just as SD was kicking off for their largest data center to date. I then had the opportunity to work on this project team through every stage of design until 100% CD's. Using team skills in Revit, and testing design limits using Rhino/Grasshopper, I was able to contribute more to this project than any other professional practice thus far in my career.

William McDonough + Partners, San Francisco, CA, US, Intern Architect

Focusing on the commercial development at 333 Brannan as it recently finished 100% SD, I operated within a team of three to develop the Revit BIM model and documents through 100% DD. This project was pivotal in expanding the range of the branch’s work beyond the schematic design benchmark.

STUDIOS Architecture, San Francisco, CA, US, Intern Architect

I contributed primarily as both a model maker—digitally and physically—and a graphic designer on competitions in Shanghai and corporate campuses in the South Bay. Working directly under two of the principals, I was their experimentalist through the schematic design process. I also enjoyed the unique experience of watching the fourth and final structure of their Foundry Square development assemble across the street from their office. While in San Francisco I also earned my LEED GA accreditation.

Aug 2012 - Dec 2012

STUDIOS Architecture, Washington, DC, US, Intern Architect

For my first co-operative education experience, I had the pleasure of working on a large variety of projects at several different stages of the design process. I performed mainly in Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and on physical models. I also developed the ability to administer the construction process on Newforma and complete LEED documentation in LoraxPro.

Education

University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, US, B.S. Architecture

I was honored to begin my education under the capable hands of the faculty within the College of Design Art Architecture and Planning. As part of our curriculum we were required to fulfill 3 professional co-op's before our graduation, and this experience was fundamental to my understanding of the active industry.
