Morgan Sykes Jaybush

Los Angeles, CA, US

About

Morgan has led projects from concept design through construction administration for a wide range of project types including design for adaptive reuse, interior design, restaurants and hospitality, multi-family residential and skid row housing.  A fourth generation Angeleno, Morgan grew up in Downtown LA and has taken an active role in its revitalization both through his role with Omgivning as well as in his personal time.  His current focus rests on restaurants, theaters and hospitality, and he specializes in working out the complications often found when re-using existing, older buildings.  Morgan provides Omgivning with a passion for creative problem solving and comprehensive detailing evidenced in his coordination of complex building systems and his love for intricate custom interior design.

Morgan studied and worked in Italy for over two and a half years.  He brings the Italian love and respect for historic buildings into his work in Downtown LA.  Morgan serves on the Bringing Back Broadway Sign District Committee, and is a community activist working closely with the Council Office, Office of Historic Resources and the LA Conservancy to preserve endangered historic fabric in downtown.
