I am a maker. I design with my hands and learn from them. However, it doesn’t diminish my exploration in the digital realm, which allows me to design, visualize, and communicate from a different perspective.
I am a chef. I enjoy the experiment of adding the same ingredient at a different time, yielding different end results. Architecture is similar.
I want to design communities. I believe that architects connect people to places. Only through architecture does places become inhabitable and meaningful.

Design-built & RFP experience:
Co-managed the project from site analysis and precedent studies to physical construction that included material sourcing and on-site arrangements. Projects include competition entries for public engagement, affordable housing prototype, and architectural installation. (MOMA PS1, Boston Design Biennial, Central Falls housing RFP)
Renovation design and construction administration:
Contributed to the project team from SD phase to construction administration. With supervision, I materialized concepts into renderings, samples, construction documents, shop drawings, and in the last stage, overlook through the construction from demolition to renovation. (Gallery renovation of Bayard Ewing Building, RISD)
Exhibition design, fabrication, and project management:
Managed project from conception to realization. We worked as a team to set up standards and visual language for exhibition. Through mockups and CAD modeling, exhibition was designed with high attention to manufacturing strategy. (New New York Icon exhibition at Storefront, Arch. League Prize at Parsons)

Masterplan and schematic design:
Analyzed forces and possibilities for the development on site. Produced plans, sections, visual presentations, and physical models to relay our visions while fulfilling client’s needs. Various schemes were developed and studied during the SD phase. (K-12 bilingual school new campus development)
Client representative:
Coordinated and negotiated client needs, goals, and possibilities with support from Senior Design Associate. This is a 3-stage campus development. The project will be up and running at the end of Stage 1, while the construction continues. Accordingly, considerable time and planning was involved in managing logistics and calculating square footages for each construction stage.
Developmental and technical support:
Supported the design and drawing of construction documents while producing a detailed model to elaborate design intentions and construction methods. With supervision, I successfully liaised with relevant structural engineers and other contractors in the decision sign off according to economic and practical needs.
