Skolkovo Technopark is envisioned to be the country’s largest innovation incubator, and the largest in Europe. Designed to hothouse a home-grown tech-driven economy, this hub offers labs and flexible office space where businesses and academia can conduct research and test out innovative, marketable ideas.
V+P was responsible for district 2 of the master plan which included the Technopark as well as partner facilities and 13 circular neighborhoods to house staff and visitors. The other 4 districts of the greater development were designed by Herzog & de Meuron, David Chipperfield, OMA, and others.
Made of five different research clusters: biomedical science, nuclear science, energy efficiency, IT and space technology, the Technopark campus itself is meant to encourage innovation. Facilities at Technopark include dry and wet labs, office and co-working spaces, showrooms as well as event spaces.
