This guest studio was design with a large garage at first floor level, sauna, laundry and guest bath. The floor above contains living space, guest bedroom and bath. Large overhangs are designed to keep out the intense summer sun while allowing the winter sun in.

The structure is composed of efficient 2x8 walls with a SIPS panel roof and large overhangs.  Radiant heat provides uniform warmth and operable windows and paddle fans contribute to air movement when needed. 

The use of high quality vg fir wood clad windows and trim, exposed glulam beams and MDF ceilings, bamboo cabinetry, cork flooring, porcelain and glass tiles make for a collage of warm, sustainable, low maintenance finishes.  

Local Methow artisans and craftspeople worked with the team to produce high quality finishes throughout such as the bamboo cabinetry, decorative ironwork.
