Oikonomakis Siampakoulis architects is an incorporated design and architecture studio based in Athens, operating within the boundaries of architecture, urbanism, landscape design, interior design and object design. Whether working with existing structures or building from the ground we are driven by our design experience on a wide range of scales and programmes, as well as our commitment to making remarkable projects happen. We understand the process of designing and constructing buildings and spaces as providing functional and sustainable solutions to existing or future needs, aiming to maximise the potential of each project and add value to properties and places by offering extraordinary design and original experiences. With imagination and creativity, alongside our belief that design can make the physical world around us more beautiful and surprising, our ideas create works with a unique architectural character that stands out with its originality and ingenuity. The studio delivers projects in both Greece and abroad having a consciously international outlook, collaborating with private companies and individual clients who are aspiring and forward-thinking and they search for unique, provocative solutions for their projects.

Ilias Oikonomakis and Angelos Siampakoulis are in association since 2009. Their body of work has been recognized widely with projects and research presented or exhibited at the 7th Biennale of Landscape Architecture in Barcelona, the 14th European Forum of Cities in Helsinki, the University of Edinburgh, the Benaki Museum and the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens, the Architectural Association in London, and the MIT in Boston.

Ilias Oikonomakis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1990. He holds a Diploma in Architecture Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2015), and an MPhil in Architecture and Urban Design from the AA - Architectural Association School of Architecture in London (2017). At the AA his studies were supported by the School’s bursary fund. Oikonomakis is a registered architect with the Technical Chamber of Greece. Prior to establishing his own practice, he collaborated with Protopapa studio, Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, Heatherwick studio, and with Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a research and design associate. He is currently a PhD candidate at the National Technical University of Athens.

Angelos  Siampakoulis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1990. He holds a Diploma in Architecture Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2016), and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urbanism from the ΜΙΤ - Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT he was a Fulbright Fellow, a fellow of the Harry D Triantafillu Scholarship Fund, the Onassis Foundation, the Gerondelis Foundation and the Cyprus Children’s Fund. Siampakoulis is a registered architect with the Technical Chamber of Greece. Prior to establishing his own practice, he collaborated with Miralles Tagliabue EMBT in Barcelona, 40.22 Architects in Thessaloniki, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group in Copenhagen, and Perkins&Will in Boston.
