About

My name is Federico Ortiz, I am an architect from Argentina based in London. I have plenty of experience not only within the professional architecture environment, but also among academic and other disciplinary circles. I worked for almost five years for big international architecture offices in Argentina and Switzerland. Outstanding from my colleagues, gave me the possibility to take leading roles both as a professional and teacher working with multidisciplinary teams in teaching, research, and curatorial activities. Working collaboratively is one of my finest skills and my networking abilities were proven by the fact that I won two international scholarships for working and studying abroad. As a Chevening Scholar, I am currently pursuing a Master in History and Critical Thinking in Architecture at the Architectural Association in London. The kind of work developed at the AA gave me a strong training in writing and editorial assignments.

Employment

Estudio Bares, City Bell, AR, Junior Architect

I have been part of three competition teams: First a competition for a court of justice where I was in charge of the facade development, design and representation. Then a competition for a cultural center, where I was part of the design team and as the competition was won, I also was part of the team that developed the documentation for construction. Finally, I was part of a team for an international competition for a museum, where I was given a leading role among other junior architects and interns, to develop and be in charge of the whole presentation. Then I worked on two projects - a housing complex and a hospital - in the documentation and construction phase. As well, I supervised the construction of a private single family house.
