Optimist Design is an LA-based creative studio at the axis of branding and entertainment. It converges digital and analog design disciplines to create innovative story-driven environments. From commercials and feature films to print campaigns, Optimist Design has produced physical and digital sets for Porsche, BMW, Sony, and Warner Brothers, as well as music artists Daft Punk and Kanye West. The company also creates immersive consumer brand experiences and live events for clients such as Nike and Disney.
The studio's approach to design is as choreographic as it is narrative, framing and unfolding new worlds that blur the lines of art and media, fantasy and reality. Optimist Design achieves these hybrid realities with an extensive R&D process using the latest digital production technology.
The cross-disciplinary Optimist Design team is led by Tino Schaedler, an award-winning designer and trained architect, who has art-directed feature films, including Tim Burton‘s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “V for Vendetta” and two “Harry Potter” films. A former founding member of design collective NAU, he gained attention for his “Strato Cruiser” and “Immersive Cocoon” design projects, which were widely featured on CNN, Architectural Digest, GQ and other internationally renowned publications.
