Whatman was founded in 1740 as a maker of fine papers. Since then, the company has evolved into an international separations technology business with offices and locations around the globe.
The design of Whatman’s United States 18,000 square foot headquarters is the first Whatman office to incorporate image and branding into the interior architectural aesthetic. Through reception, conference center and product demonstration areas, the prospective client is treated to a minimalist environment in order to emphasize the history of the company and the product being sold.
Whatman was so happy with NK’s design of its North American Headquarters, they requested the development of a branding standards manual, which included design requirements, to be developed. These standards have been utilized in Whatman’s UK facility and another office in the United States.
