Nielsen Studios was selected to design Penny Ice Creamery, the first ice cream shop in Santa Cruz to make their own Ice cream from scratch. This required a pasteurizing room and a full kitchen as well as retail service area. The previous use of this historically registered building was a hair salon for many years. We assisted our clients through the various City agencies to achieve their goals for the location and they are now operating a very successful business in the Downtown Corridor.
