New Mood Design collaborated with Michael F. Gallagher, Architect, Breckenridge, CO on the Peak 8 Penthouse. This contemporary mountain home has its Great Room on the third level. Looking through the window-walls across the roof decks to spectacular views, you'll see why it's called the Penthouse. The middle level of this three-story, weekend retreat has ski-in access to nearby ski hills. The home has two master suites, boys' and girls' bunk rooms, and an additional guest room. All levels are accessed by a stunning, central stairway and an elevator.
Our clients desired a minimally furnished home, both functional and elegant, for their weekend retreat. New Mood Design selected finishes and furnishings with this in mind. The detailing is sophisticated and unique. Neutral colors echo the natural surroundings, giving the home a warm feeling despite it's clean, modern lines and the frigid climate. The exterior features a combination of rock, wood, stucco, steel and glass that allows the custom architecture to stand out while still appearing at home in the mountains. The overall contemporary lighting design was conceived to add elements of surprise - playfulness and drama - throughout the home.
