Studio 804 is an internationally renowned design-build studio comprised entirely of graduate students that are engaged in every step of the process. In one full school year, myself and 20 other students, designed and built a house. We handle every single aspect of the design and the build from pouring the foundation to installing the kitchen cabinetry. No part of the process is ever sub contracted and we are encouraged to figure everything out ourselves using the tools and resources that we have learned to use during undergrad. It is the most comprehensive experience that an architecture student can get. From realistic design, budgeting, communicating with sales representatives, acquiring building materials, detailing every condition imaginable, and actually being the contractor to a building that will earn international awards, Studio 804 has given me the skills, experience, and confidence that I will use every day of my future career.
