I am a recent graduate of Columbia University's Masters of Science in Architecture and Urban Design Program (MSAUD '15) with a Bachelors of Architecture from Philadelphia University (CA_BE '15)
My passion for the built environment emanates from discovering and creating cultural, vernacular expressions through creating a positive social impact in contexts like informal settlements, which I have done in Malawi and South Africa. Each disparate background I have observed has enhanced my passion for exploring what makes architecture vernacular, transcendent and aesthetically infused with unique regional and cultural values. Designing for different cultures, climates, and contexts, generates very unique architectural and urban design challenges that promotes, and requires innovation. This “innovation as a result of need”, is truly the keystone of architecture and its results are what make this pursuit truly remarkable.
