“Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.” – Diane Ackerman Pedagogy i.e. the art of teaching faces a real test in today’s times for its stagnancy and rigidity in its discourse. The schooling environment, since the industrial revolution, has done very little to revamp their gloomy, colorless, isolating, and lifeless spaces. Since Environment is considered as the ‘third teacher’ in pedagogy, this competition should strive to design a learning space that allows the environment to teach, inspire, and shape the identity of the people. In this competition, participants have to design a learning space that negates the present day ‘bench-table-chalkboard’ idea of a classroom and a regularized building typology of a school. The site can be anywhere, but participants need to rationalize the selection of the context, scale, and users. Freedom of selection has been provided for experiencing diverse ideas, perspectives in learning spaces. The design should strive to create a new pedagogical space that emphasizes people-oriented design in behavioral terms.
