Czemierniki palace with its surrounding gardens and fortifications is a late renaissance establishment, unique amongst European protected sites. However, with the passage of time and its original purpose obsolete the palace fell into ruin. In order to bring new life to this site a redevelopment and new direction was necessary. Given its superb location a state of the art conference center seemed the most sensible choice for its new function. In order to meet the spacial requirements for this new function greater space needed to be created. A new pavilion was constructed which sits calmly on the lake creating a dialog between the elements of earth and water. By creating a third level with a flexible plan and multifunctional
area even greater space became available. Despite its very sophisticated design, the minimalist and simple appearance emphasizes the true beauty of the palace and its gardens.
