About the Project and Design Decisions

As in the functionality movement, the most important basic design principle of contemporary architecture, I tried to find solutions for practical functions in my school project, which I designed with the idea of "Form Follows Function".

In this context, I have tried to provide accessibility to the spaces where the users will perform their actions, both horizontally and vertically, by taking into account the Minimum Design Standards for Educational Buildings and fire, shelter and parking regulations that guide my design decisions.
I determined my transportation decisions by synthesizing the most basic Sunbathing, Dominant Wind and Orientation analyzes, especially near and far environment transportation to the land.
I provided the access of the users to the building from the north.
By positioning the Outdoor Sports Area in the north-south direction, I tried to screen the noise control of the market place with green texture.
I have analyzed it in the center of the school structure so that the Administrative Units can easily access the ceremony area.
I made the Conference Hall and Library units, which students can access from inside during the week, open to the public at the weekend as well.
I resolved the technical units and the cooking and dishwashing units of the Dining Hall in the basement and provided the Personnel and Service vehicle entrance from the south. In this way, I have brought the personnel and the service vehicle to a position where it can and does not enter the busy vehicle and pedestrian route in the north of the school.
A brick that strengthens the expression of art and crafts is a life, a student is fictionalized in the context of an art, I thought of bricks on the facade of the ground floor to strengthen the visual expression of the school building and make it attractive.
The structure of the building is reinforced concrete carcass, reinforced concrete cassette flooring in the horizontal system separating the floors, trapezoidal flooring in wide-span spaces and a steel construction roof.
I tried to provide natural lighting by using solar control with horizontal sunshades, solar tube system on the south façade, in the music department corridor and library on the 2nd floor.
By solving rain gardens in passive green areas on the land and a thermally insulated green garden inverted terrace roof on the flat terrace roof of the school building, I tried to save resources by collecting and recovering rain water, and to provide savings to the users and an image element in the city with the green roof texture.
