Liberty PraiseHouse is an earth sheltered building that creates strong connections between man, architecture and nature. The soil for this building is directly excavated from the rice field and re-purposed to build the praise house and path, which is a re-creation of the irrigation system that was once used in these fields. As an addition to this recreation, earth architecture is acts as a self-sustaining insulator, structurally stable, adaptable to its surroundings, and fire and sound resistant. The architecture symbolizes union, respect, and equality and shatters the disconnection that once prevailed in the plantation. Liberty PraiseHouse serves and emphasizes the purpose of this Historic Site: to unite people.
