Tanvir Hasan is working to create beautiful, safe, and sustainable buildings. Raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Tanvir overcame dyslexia and health challenges to pursue his bachelor’s degree in architecture. During his undergraduate years, his work earned awards, and after graduating in 2016, Tanvir worked for renowned architectural firms in Dhaka. Now that he is pursuing a master’s degree in architecture from Taubman College, Tanvir intends to use his degree to improve his computational design and crowd simulation skills. Ultimately, his goal is to improve people’s lives on a personal, community, and global level through attractive and sustainable design, and to improve disadvantaged communities by creating affordable and functional housing solutions. As he states, “Every person deserves to live in a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment.” CEW+ celebrates Tanvir’s vision and names him a Grace A. and James D. Bruce Community Engagement Scholar.
