I am a Portuguese architect that now seeks a radically new professional and personal experience in NYC after 4 years of working in The Netherlands and Belgium.
dmvA architecten, Mechelen, BE, Freelancer Architect
I’ve worked briefly as a freelancer in Belgium for dmvA architecten on smaller scale projects. My intention was to gain knowledge in execution phases and detailing, specially within the scope of renovation projects.
OZ Architects, Amsterdam, NL, Junior Architect
In my job at OZ Architects, I began as one of the few designers capable of working with Revit and learned primarily with technicians. Quickly it became my second role within the company, not only to help others transition from cad+skp, but also to develop and maintain the office templates, library and guides.
Parallel to this I worked as a junior architect on mainly commissioned residential projects (smaller scale to high-rise). I was involved from schematic to definite design, since in more detailed phases technicians usually would take over the project. My tasks included concept exploration and several architectural studies, apartment layouts, renders, detailed data sheets and presentation booklets, as well as playing an active role in project discussions during meetings with both clients and advisors.
Burton Hamfelt Urban Architecture, Amsterdam, NL, Intern
I worked as an intern at Burton Hamfelt Urban Architecture, where I took part in projects such as the design of 2 schools, an urban masterplan, competitions and an exhibition. My experience ranged between the production of visuals, technical drawings and diagrams, both 3D and physical model-making, organizing and conducting workshops and even managing the office website and social media pages. Later on, I was also called back by this employer to give some Revit training to the team based on a Q&A method.
