we started this project in may of 2012 after some research and the later realisation of the fact that no serious anglophone website strictly devoted to japanese minimalist architecture was out there.

we concentrate on japanese minimalist architecture projects built in japan / architecture built elsewhere by japan based architectural offices and architects. focus is definitely on already built projects, but occasionally some great proposal can find its way to the site also.

projects presented here are mostly described by their respected authors themselves, with hi-res photographs and plans and as accurate as possible project data at the bottom of each post.

our goal is to bring the amazing philosophy behind japanese architecture closer to wider audiences beside architects and designers, and by doing that to create the largest online project based “library” for architecture of Japan for which we have the deepest respect and admiration.
